AAAAAhhhh!

Go - Go - Go.... that's how I feel all the time. I am in desperate need of some down time. Luckily this month is slow for our PTA. All we have going is a movie night on the 19th. I am always at the school, people stop me there and ask me what my position is at the school. Ha! Some people tell me it takes real dedication and selflessness, I can agree with that. But, I feel I need to take advantage of this slight lull and pay more attention to my home, and my family. So with out further ado I present my baking counter:
This antique I picked up at a garage sale a few years back is the hub of my holiday baking. Now it didn't look like this a few days ago, however in reclaiming my home I am putting things in their rightful place. Take this cabinet for example, within its doors hide all my baking pans, trays, and cooling sheets, silpats and muffin tins. In its drawers lie cookie cutters, pastry scrapers, and piping bags and tips. Now that the mixer is back in its home snuggled between the marble slab for rolling and the glass jars full of flour and sugar I may begin my holiday baking! I needed to celebrate this momentous occasion with a loaf of cranberry bread!
Yesterdays dinner was a cannelloni bean and chicken sausage casserole, topped with crispy sage and breadcrumbs! In an attempt to avoid those nasty canned goods I boiled the beans.

To avoid buying jelly I satisfied my mothers craving and canned a double batch of pomegranate jelly!
 Aint it purdy?
Annabelle saved and saved and was able to buy the cabbage patch baby she has wanted ever since that darn Target opened across the street. Here she is with her boys, Tom and Robert. (photo taken by Sophia)

  1. Grandma used to make the Poor Man's soup but added flour to a texture a little less thick than clam chowder. I loved it!
